VICTORIAN antique Whitby jet and Gypsy boy portrait brooch and earrings set
Price: $698.00
DescriptionVICTORIAN antique Whitby jet and Gypsy boy portrait brooch and earrings set. The painted porcelain miniatures are painted on porcelain in about 1870. The plaques were often done in Austria and sent to Whitby, England, to be mounted in jet for jewelry.
They show a young Tyrolean boy, also called the "gypsy boy" or "green boy". The brooch is 2-1/3 by 2" and the earrings for pierced ears are a total length of 2-1/4" including the wires. There is some crazing and one crack on back of the earrings on the jet part only, but it does look stable.
