Description KNIGHT in armor brooch with a purple amethyst set in 800 silver accented with 9 karat yellow gold. The details include the golden crown on his chest, the feathers, axes and a pendant around his neck. It is marked with the continental "800" on the back and has a European style trombone catch, 2-7/8". I have read that 800 silver was historically used more in Germany, Italy and the US.
