DENICOLA JEWELRY
1957-1970
Founded in the 1950s by Jerry DeNicola, his early line called "The Real
Look" was comprised of costume jewelry meant to look like fine
jewelry. Some of their well known pieces are the poured glass styles,
the zodiac line, and the frogs. DeNicola at it’s best is well designed and detailed, whimsical
and unusual.

DeNICOLA
transparent blue pink and green poured cells in a gold plated setting.
It is a signed "DeNicola, pat pend" on the back and it is a 2" domed brooch,
late 1950s. In a vintage Hattie Carnegie ad for this same cell I
saw these called "molded multi-colored stones".

HATTIE CARNEGIE rose, blue and green poured glass
and clear rhinestones set in gold tone back-hinged 7" by 1-1/4"
bracelet and 1" earrings. Both bracelet and earrings marked on the
back "Hattie Carnegie". This is not a DeNicola set,
but it’s amazingly similar to them. #C25032 |
DeNICOLA blue and green

similar piece. This is signed DeNicola" on the back made in the
late 1950s.

DENICOLA spectacular brooch with poured transparent pink and green cells, 2 3/4" wide by
2-5/16". Not only are the colors absolutely beautiful, but the brooch is a
good size too at 2-3/4" by 2-5/6". In a vintage Hattie Carnegie ad for
this same style of cell I saw them called "molded multi-colored stones". I
have seen these incorrectly called "gripoix", too, but that is not what
they are. It is an amazing and beautiful brooch no matter
what you call it, made in the late 1950s and not an easy brooch to find.

DENICOLA
painted mermaid ornament that is hand signed and dated 1990.
This is 4" by 3-1/3". It doesn’t seem as heavy as plaster, but heavier
than paper mache too, so I am not sure what the material is. This can
not have been made by the jewelry company of this same name because that
company closed in 1970, but it is a wonderful fantasy piece shown here just
for fun.

Bow! This can not have been made by the jewelry company of this same
name because that company closed in 1970, but it is a wonderful fantasy
piece.
