DuJAY
DuJay was a New York company in business from 1934-1954 according to Deanna
Cera’s book "Amazing Gems" on page 121, where she also states that most of their
jewelry was not signed. The owners were
Jules Hirsch and Jacques H. Leff.
DUJAY attributed faceted glass circle fur clip with red glass bead
berries, green enamel leaves and clear rhinestone veins, 2-1/2" by 1-7/8", circa
1940. This is not signed but has all the attributes of a DuJay piece, circa
1940. There is very slight graying in some of the clear stones, visible only
upon very close examination, but it is in otherwise excellent condition. View

DUJAY rare flower bracelet, the most amazing I have ever seen! Each
link is centered with a clusters of clear rhinestone paved roses with a
rose colored glass cabochon in the middle, rich and delicious. And
around each flower are green enameled leaves and more clear rhinestones.
The bridges between each link are purple square rhinestones and the
entirety is set in silver rhodium plated metal. The clear rhinestones show an even
and slight graying typical of pieces this age, circa 1940. Typically, there is no
signature. The bracelet is 7-1/4" wearable and 1-1/4" wide, and is is
secured by a double clasp and a safety chain. There are scratches on the
back side only, but nothing that detracts from this amazing bracelet. A
smaller version of this piece is in Deanna Cera’s book "Amazing Gems" on
page 121 where it is circa dated 1935.

DUJAY
unsigned flower and leaves brooch with rich purple glass beads center,
clear rhinestone accents and translucent green enameled leaves, just
fabulous. It is a large 4-1/2" by 2-1/2" brooch with a gilt
finish, circa 1940. A few of the clear stones have grayed over time, and
there is very light wear to some of the finish, but it is otherwise in
excellent condition, a true treasure. While it is not signed, I believe
it is by DuJay because it has the pin stem that opens only 45 degrees,
typical of that maker as well
as and also typical is how the pin is fastened to a little round plate
and then to the brooch itself.

missing the enamel. It is 3-1/3" by 2-1/2" and has the catch that opens only
45 degrees and mounted on a little round pad, typical of DuJay construction. Circa 1940s,
it’s a gem of a piece and has the weight of a quality piece. On the back are
the initials "N" in one place and "D" in another, and there’s some slight
wear on the finish on the back.

enameling, which the photo enlarges. Liz Gross tells me that this was
made in 1940 and it came in two sizes, this brooch being the smaller of
the two.
