VALENTINE circa 1850, hand painted and calligraphy. From Mary W. Janvrin (born 1832) of Exter, New Hampshire, to William Page, then a medical student at Harvard. They dated for a time, then broke up. Mary went on to write and publish numerous articles on housekeeping and also wrote five books, two of them novels. The novels were published under her name, but the housekeeping works under the pseudonym "Mrs. Ellsworth". She died near Boston circa 1878. |
