This Alice Caviness Jewelry catalogue
illustrates some of her designs. We do not have a definite indication
of the year as this catalogue is not dated, but we think it is from about 1965.

GOLD on sterling with hand set marcasites.

GERMANY gilt sterling filigree and marcasite brooch
and earrings. Brooch is 1-3/4" by 1", clip back earrings 3/4", all in
excellent condition. Each piece is signed "Germany sterling" on the back,
along with a maker’s mark that I cannot read. Alice Caviness bought pieces
like these and applied her mark to them, but this is not a Caviness set. A
similar brooch and earrings can be seen in her circa 1965 catalogue though

GOLD on sterling with hand set marcasite.

GERMANY sterling gilt bracelet with tiny marcasites, signed on the clasp
"sterling Germany" and a tiny touch mark that I cannot read, circa 1965-70.
It has a safety catch and is 7" by 3/4". American designer Alice Caviness
imported pieces like this and put her name on them, but this isn’t signed by
her. A photo of her catalog shows her pieces, and there they are described
as "gold on sterling with hand set marcasites". This is in excellent
condition.

STERLING
gilt filigree butterfly brooch with marcasites, 3" by 2". Marked on the
back "Germany sterling". Designer Alice Caviness had these in her
jewelry line, too, also made in Germany but with her label added. This
one isn’t signed by her though. On the head of the butterfly is an
orange color as you can see in the photo, and the finish is a soft gold
rather than a shiny finish. View
