MORNING GLORY owns and sells at THE ANTIQUE CONNECTION MALL on Historic Route 66 at 12815 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as on our web site, Facebook and Instagram. We are just off Interstate-40 at the foot of the beautiful Sandia Mountains. We have about 50 friendly and knowledgeable dealers in a 10,000 square foot clean and well-lit building. It is a really fun and interesting place to shop with a wide variety of antiques and collectibles. In addition, we offer maps to the other local shops, places to sit and relax a bit while shopping, and even sparkling clean bathrooms.

It's SPRING and like the BIRDS, we've been told to STAY HOME and NEST

Just one activity I have been having fun with is photographing and sharing different stacks of vintage bakelite bangles with other dealers and customers, all bakelite lovers like me. It's so creative to see what we might wear with what, and there are some surprises when you begin combining them. Sets you might never have thought of!

Along with many others, we had to close our bricks-and-mortar antiques mall for now due to the Covids virus. It can be a very difficult time, and we must help each other in ways that we can. I hope all of you are safe and well, as we are so far, and that this will all end soon.

For me, playing with jewelry has been one of my distractions and I want to share some of the fun with you!

The fun of bakelite is collecting, combining, sharing and wearing them. And there are so many different ways to do it!

You might enjoy stacks with the same carving designs in different colors, for instance. Because I have small wrists, I like finding the smaller sized Maiden's bangles so they can function as "stoppers" for bangles in the standard 2-1/2" size. That way I can wear them without the fear of them dropping off my hand. Transparent Prystal bangles, overdyed colors, reverse carved, dotted and cut-through bangles... so many types to have a great time combining and wearing!

So today we will share lots of colorful ideas for wearing these amazing pieces of antique jewelry, and hope that it brings you some cheer during this difficult time.
