Description EDWARDIAN era A&J Zimmerman sterling silver fitted ring box hallmarked for the year 1912, 3-1/2" by 3" by 1-1/8" deep.
A memorable year, 1912 was the year of the sinking of the great ocean liner the RMS Titanic, and fittings taken aboard that ship by travelers could have been similar to this! It has the beautifully engraved initials "NL" on the lid, and it's fitted in soft green velvet to hold 5 rings. There's only one slight flaw, a shallow dent at one edge.
The scalloped shape and heavy construction of this wonderful box show the high quality with which it was made. ViewView Product #V39774
